Oh, but this summer? This summer feels like SUMMER. All of the neighborhood kids are traveling in a pack, and mine are finally old enough to tag along for the ride. We've taken a total break from all structured activities, and just spend most of our days being lazy (me), or running around from house to house as a group like I remember doing all summer long (them).
It seems like most weeks the only places we go are the community pool and the gym. That's just the way that I like summer to be. (Hey, gotta hit the gym if I want to show up in public in a bathing suite on a regular basis!) I'm totally taking a relaxed approach to house work because there is a constant parade of children in and out of my house leaving a wave of destruction behind them. But one thing that isn't going away is the laundry.
Add 5 pairs of gym clothes and a million wet swimsuits and towels to our already high tally of laundry baskets a week, and it goes without saying why laundry is pretty much the only household task that I am attempting to keep up with this summer.
So, segue my little story about how I like to be lazy but also need to do a lot of laundry, into the latest opportunity from BlogHer and P&G. When I was asked if I would like to talk about one of their products and their online store, it was kind of a no brainer. You know that I love to tell you guys about things that I love, so here's my chance.
Do I love Tide Cold Water?
Yes, because I can do 27 million loads of laundry a week without having to pay a high water heating bill. I wash everything in cold water, so it makes sense to me to use a detergent designed for such a practice.
Do I think buying things online from P&G is a great idea?
Yes, because it allows me to be lazy, and it spares me the toddler tax that I must pay whenever we enter a store that sells things like gum, candy, barbies, or brightly colored objects strategically positioned at kid height near the checkout lanes. (Well played Target, well played).
At this point, I'm in favor of all things that simplify our life and allow us more time to be lazy and have summer fun.
It's worth mentioning that if you click on my link to enter P&G's store, I will get a small commission from your purchase. If you're not cool with that, I understand. But if you were going to buy some laundry detergent and other household products anyway, you might as well use my link to get there. And be sure to enjoy your 10% off your purchase (thru all of Aug), and free shipping for orders over $25 as a thank you. Also, there are some cool olympic themed bundles because anyone who has watched the Olympics knows that P&G is a huge supporter of the games.
So go ahead, be lazy, buy your laundry detergent (and deodorant, and shampoo, and swiffer refills) online. It's summer, you deserve it. Brownie points if you come back and share your completed shopping list here.
