Case by Case

Without going into the details of my delicates drawer, I think every woman out there knows what I mean when I say that not all underwear is equal. We've got the good stuff, the stuff nobody was ever meant to see, and that one pair that isn't really that comfortable but it's the only one that really works with white pants. Yes, underwear comes in categories.  And anything that comes in categories has a need for some sort of organizational strategy, or you'll end up emptying the entire drawer every time you decide to wear those white pants.
So, lots of stores sell those drawer organizer thingies.

Container Store. $5

But you all know how I am about buying stuff- I like to think about it and complain about it for a long time before I actually buy that one thing that would make my life easier.

And why buy something when you can find a perfectly good replacement for free? This one happens to come free with purchase when you're responsible for providing the beer at your friend's Memorial Day cookout.

It's not as pretty as the Container Store option, but I wasn't going for pretty, I was just going for functional. And we live 5 min from the beer store, and about an hour away from The Container Store.

It works. I'm not sure how long it will work for- I might decide it's more trouble than it's worth in a few weeks, but I thought I'd give it a shot.

  1. I was wondering if you're still using this system... My "delicates" drawer is a giant indelicate mess and if this works for you I may join your bandwagon. Please share. :-)

  2. Yup I absolutely still use it and it is working great! A true test of whether it was a good idea or not is when I can say the real life version still looks as organized as the photo from when I first blogged about it! It takes about 30 extra seconds to put away my clean laundry, but just opening the drawer and shoving everything in was how I got into that mess in the first place!
